Model UN at RVC
Model United Nations at RVC gives students the opportunity to explore global issues, represent countries, and participate in diplomatic debate and negotiation. Through conferences, meetings, and collaborative preparation, students build practical skills in public speaking, research, writing, teamwork, leadership, critical thinking, and problem-solving. RVC Model UN welcomes students from all academic backgrounds who are interested in international affairs, service, leadership, and developing their voice.
About ROMUN
ROMUN (Rockford Model United Nations) is a high school Model UN conference hosted by Rock Valley College’s Model UN team. ROMUN gives students the opportunity to step into the role of diplomats, debate pressing global issues, and collaborate on creative solutions in a collegiate setting. The conference is designed to build leadership, public speaking, research, and teamwork skills while inspiring the next generation of global leaders.

To register a delegation for ROMUN 2026, faculty advisors should contact the conference team directly. Please include your school name, estimated number of delegates, and any accommodation needs in your message. Note the following fees and deadlines:
- Conference Fees: $75 per Student, $50 per Advisor
- Priority Registration Deadline: September 6, 2026
- Final Registration & Payment Deadline: September 20, 2026
The conference includes:
- Access to all committee sessions
- Committees are designed to address timely international, political, humanitarian, and global-development issues
- Specific committee topics and background guides will be released separately
- Conference materials (badges, placards, and program)
- Certificates for participating delegates and schools
Delegates (conference attendees) must follow standard Model UN parliamentary procedures and committee-specific guidelines.
