According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, electric vehicle sales could reach 40% of total passenger car sales by 2023. The increase in electric vehicles on the road means an increased demand for skilled technicians to service those vehicles. Thanks to a grant from the Illinois Green Economy Network (IGEN), Rock Valley College has developed a training program to answer the call.

Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) has awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to Rock Valley College for its annual comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2022.
Each year, the Rock Valley College Testing Center administers thousands of tests. During the 2023 academic year, the staff delivered over 5,600 tests. Over 200 of those exams were three Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) computerized exams students needed to complete in order to obtain their Airframe and Powerplant licenses to perform maintenance on aircraft.

Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) is one of the newest departments at RVC. The department was created just before the fall 2022 semester and will oversee all emergency management aspects for the college, as well as OSHA compliance, NFPA, ANSI, and several others for compliance, safety training, event action planning, property damage incidents, and personal injury incidents.
