Undecided Student Finds Calling at RVC

Like many students, Omar Ramirez, class of 2021, enrolled at RVC with an undecided major, not quite certain of his career path. At first, he thought, maybe something in health care would be a good fit. Well, after taking a number of science courses, he decided that was not the answer.


Starlight Earns Five Lou Awards For Excellence In Theatre

Congratulations to Rock Valley College Starlight Theatre for receiving five Lou Awards for excellence in theatre. The Lou Awards celebrate community and college theatre in the north and northwest suburbs of Chicago. Starlight was nominated for a total of 25 awards in nine categories.


RVC Chemistry Students Celebrate Mole Day

Mole Day is officially recognized on Sunday, October 23. At first, you might think it’s a celebration for a furry mammal with a subterranean lifestyle. Instead, it’s the name given to the quantity 6.022 x 1023 in the chemistry world. Italian Scientist Amedeo Avogadro is most credited (albeit incorrectly) with the definition of the mole.


Spotlight On Invisible Disabilities

In recognition of National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM), several RVC students, staff, and faculty partnered to create a video series focused on creating disability awareness. These candid conversations explore what it's like to live with a disability and how others can support individuals with disabilities on campus.


RVC Receives Grant To Improve Access To Healthcare Occupations

Illinois Community College Board has awarded Rock Valley College a grant totaling $469,542 to deliver enhanced career and technical education programs in the health science field.
