RVC Lands Aircraft For The Aviation Maintenance Program

The arrival of the CRJ at Rock Valley College’s Aviation Maintenance Technology (AMT) program hangar at the Chicago Rockford International Airport was three years in the making. At that time, Goertzen authored a white paper outlining an aggressive plan to grow AAR’s workforce in Rockford in a way that had not been done before.


Edge Factor Founder Keynotes Mfg Day At RVC

President and Founder of Edge Factor, Jeremy Bout was the keynote speaker at the Manufacturing Day event at Rock Valley College, Advanced Technology Center on Thursday, October 3. Jeremy is a manufacturer-turned-filmmaker, and his presentation shared pieces of his story as well as stories from Edge Factor’s library. These stories featured real-life people who have used their minds, hands, and advanced technology to push back the edge of what’s possible.


RVC To Train Filmmakers For Illinois Film Production Jobs

Illinois is losing opportunities to bring film production to areas outside of Chicago due to a lack of skilled production talent. The Illinois Film Office (IFO) is teaming up with Rock Valley College to change that. In January 2023, the RVC Mass Communication department will offer a free, 80-hour, intensive training course that will prepare individuals for entry-level work in the motion picture industry. All program completers will be credentialed and added to a talent pool with the IFO.
