Scholarships Available

Scholarships for membership dues and class fees are available to those with financial need. Call the CLR Program Director at (815) 921-3933 for more information. All inquiries are confidential.

Speakers' Bureau Available

If your senior association, company retiree group, church, or community organization would be interested in learning more about CLR and the many classes, trips, and social events offered for persons aged 50 or older, contact the CLR office at (815) 921-3931.

Our Speakers’ Bureau Committee would be happy to present to your group (15-30 minute presentation), pass out flyers and class schedules, and answer questions.

 

 

 

Current Special Interest Groups

Special Interest Groups (SIGs) provide opportunities to meet with other CLR members who share your same interest. These groups meet on a regular basis for continued learning and fun. New group members are always welcome! Interested? Expand the sections below and call the contact person listed for more information. You must be a current CLR member to join one of our Special Interest Groups.

This is an open art studio that meets on Fridays from 9:00-11:30 AM at the RVC Bell School Road Center (3350 N Bell School Rd, Rockford, IL 61114) in Room 2.

This group meets monthly (in-person and online via Zoom), typically on the third Monday of each month from 10:00-11:00 AM at the RVC Bell School Road Center (3350 N Bell School Rd, Rockford, IL 61114) in Room 4 to discuss a different book each month.

This group meets weekly on Tuesday mornings from 9:30-11:30 AM at the RVC Bell School Road Center (3350 N Bell School Rd, Rockford, IL 61114) in Room 13 for those who like to create handmade items (crocheting, knitting, etc.) to keep or donate and also enjoy socializing with others.

This is a group for those interested in meeting with other users to discuss uses, problems, and concerns relating to your iPad. Meetings are on an as-needed basis.

For those who love to write, this group provides an opportunity to share your writing with others and learn from each other. This group meets monthly on the second Tuesday of each month from 9:30-11:00 AM at RVC Bell School Road Center (3350 N Bell School Rd, Rockford, IL 61114) in Room 4.
