Technology Updates
Update: May 22 - June 1, 2026
The current version of Ellucian Colleague does not scale well long-term. Therefore, Ellucian has required all of its customers to migrate to SaaS.
SaaS is an acronym for Software as a Service. Meaning, rather than systems being installed/hosted locally, they are accessed online with a cloud service provider. This makes products easier to use, update, and scale according to the needs of an organization.
In order to fully migrate all of RVC’s Colleague Ellucian systems to SaaS, we will experience a system outage beginning on Friday, May 22 at 5 pm and coming back online by 5 am on Monday, June 1.
Systems Impacted
- Ellucian Colleague
- Self Service
- Intranet Apps (Budget Transfer Request, Account Provisioning)
Systems Not Impacted
- Single Sign-On
- Password Reset
- Canvas
