Rock Valley College Foundation Receives Grant to Enhance RAISE Program for Students with Intellectual Disabilities
On behalf of Rock Valley College, the Rock Valley College Foundation is honored to announce it has received a $14,630 grant for the Raising Aspirations through an Inclusive Student Experience (RAISE) program.
RVC Professor Awarded Grant to Preserve Rockford Education Desegregation Stories
Dr. Mathew Oakes has been awarded a National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) Grant for a two-year oral history, archival, and instructional project on the legal and community history of desegregation and education in Rockford. The $60,000 grant will fund his project, “Chronicles of Change: Archiving Stories of Desegregation in Rockford Public Schools, 1989-2002.”
Harmonies of Time: Mark Rose's 40-Year Journey with the Old Towne Band
For an incredible 40 years, Mark Rose has led the Old Towne Band. Renowned for its performances of popular music from the late 1800s and early 1900s, such as marches, ragtime, Dixieland, circus music, old overtures, and early swing, the band has flourished under his direction.
