On Tuesday, May 3, Rock Valley College students and organizations were honored at the Annual Student Life Leadership Awards Banquet. The Department of Student Life chose an Evening of Elegance as this year’s theme, encouraging students to dress to impress since most of them had previously missed out on their high school prom celebrations due to COVID.

The following awards were given out  at the banquet:

Emerging Leader of the Year Award - Ryan Russell

Excellence in Collaboration - Student Veteran Association, TRIO First Gen Club, and Black Student Union (BSU)

Organizational Advisor of the Year - Icidora Medrano

Organizational President of the Year - Kimberly Nicolosi

Outstanding Organizational Program - Love and Laughter with Karaoke put on by Campus Activities Board

Outstanding Service to Students - Phi Theta Kappa

Presidential Award for Organizational Excellence (Organization of the Year) - Phi Theta Kappa

Presidential Award for Student Leadership (Female Student Leader of the Year) - Meghan Elizabeth Lifsey

Presidential Award for Student Leadership (Male Student Leader of the Year) - Jose Lopez Garrido

Student Employee of the Year - Felipe Gelacio

Most Improved Organization - Trio First Generation Club

Rising Star Award - Jonathan Coronado-Rios

Conqueror Award - Pensalon Williams

Most Improved Athlete - Kaycia Zimmerman

Student Improvement Award - Karina Martinez

Surge Award - Angely Bautista

Phoenix Award - Tremayne Meadows

Evolving Award - James Stephan
