RVC Athletics Make National Tournament History
All four winter sports teams have advanced to NJCAA National Tournaments for the first time in Rock Valley College history. Men’s Bowling, Women’s Bowling, Men’s Basketball, and Women’s Basketball will all compete in upcoming tournaments for National Champion titles.
RVC Bowling
The Men’s and Women’s Bowling National Tournament will run March 3 - 5 in Lansing, Michigan, at the Royal Scot Golf & Bowl.
RVC Women’s Bowling is ranked #1, and Men’s Bowling is ranked #2 based on USBC College points rankings.
RVC Basketball
RVC Men’s Basketball received the 8th seed and will be competing on their home court. The Men’s NJCAA Basketball National Tournament will run March 9 - 12 at Rock Valley College. This is their sixth National Tournament in the last nine years.
For the eighth time in ten seasons, RVC Women’s Basketball is heading to the NJCAA National Tournament, March 9 - 12 in Rochester, MN, at the Rochester Region Sports Center. RVC Women’s Basketball is ranked #7 and received the 6th seed in this year’s tournament.
“Sending four teams to National Tournaments at the same time for the first time in history is a huge accomplishment,” said RVC Athletic Director Darin Monroe. “We are proud of our Men’s Bowling, Women’s Bowling, Men’s Basketball and Women’s Basketball student-athletes and coaches. They have continued to raise the bar for our department, and we wish them the best in the final step in their journeys toward hanging another banner in the PEC.”
While three of the four teams will play outside the state, all are welcome to cheer on the RVC Men’s Basketball team when they take the court at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 9, in the Rock Valley College Physical Education Center.
