Patients Needed for RVC's Dental Hygiene Program

Rock Valley College’s Dental Hygiene Program is looking for adult patients who have not received regular routine dental hygiene treatment (cleanings) for at least three years.

The dental hygiene program is currently looking for patients who haven't received treatment for at least three years.

Patients will receive other dental hygiene preventative services such as oral examinations, oral cancer screenings, fluoride varnish, and x-rays for a low-cost. Those age 65 and older may also qualify for free dental hygiene treatment through a local grant.

Additionally, the RVC Dental Hygiene Clinic is seeking children ages 5-12 years in need of professional cleanings, dental exams, x-rays, and/or sealants.

Due to the educational nature of the program, several appointments may be necessary to complete care. Please expect multiple appointments 3 hours in length.

Dental Hygiene treatment is performed by students who are supervised by dental hygiene faculty consisting of registered dental hygienists and licensed dentists.

“We are proud to provide high-quality, affordable care while giving our students valuable hands-on experience,” said Dr. Marie Navickis, Chair & Professor of the Dental Hygiene Program.
“This is a great opportunity for individuals and families who may have delayed care to receive thorough, personalized dental hygiene services in a supportive environment.”

The dental hygiene clinic is located on the first floor of the Health Sciences Center, 3301 N. Mulford Rd. Rockford, IL 61114.
