Online Associate Of Arts Offers Flexibility Affordability
At Rock Valley College, we strive to provide the same first-class learning experience online as students have come accustomed to in the face-to-face classroom. Our online learning is affordable, convenient, and flexible to fit your busy life.
In fact, we offer a flexible Associate of Arts degree, with classes that focus on liberal arts, business, health sciences, and social sciences. And the degree option prepares students to transfer to a four-year college.
Students can earn their degrees online, allowing them to attend classes without having to completely rearrange their schedules. "By attending courses virtually, I was able to keep my normal schedule. I didn't have to take a reduction in work hours,” shared Ashley Davis, 2022 RVC Graduate.
Dr. Kym Blanchard, Executive Director of Online Development and Innovation, explained that one of the keys to being a successful online learner is to set a consistent schedule and dedicated workspace. “Just as students in a face-to-face class have a set time in which they need to be in class, online students may experience greater success by setting aside a reoccurring time to log into their online courses.” Dr. Blanchard continued, “In addition to dedicating time to study and complete coursework, online students should determine which types of environments they are most productive in.”
Students can choose to attend many classes wherever and whenever they want. Whether you prefer to log in to class from the comfort of your couch or join virtually from a coffee shop surrounded by the smell of espresso, you can choose the environment that best fits your learning style. Online classes provide students the flexibility to earn their degree when and where it works best for them.
Rock Valley College also strives to make learning affordable, with competitive tuition rates and payment options. For online courses, the tuition is the same as in-district tuition, regardless of a student’s residency status. Students may also be eligible for financial aid and scholarships.
And, best of all, students still receive quality instruction and access to resources. Faculty keep student success top-of-mind throughout online learning and aim to make most course materials fully electronic. In addition, students are still able to take advantage of campus resources such as tutoring, academic advising, library, and campus events and activities.
Whether you are interested in taking a class online or completing an entire degree online, Rock Valley College’s online options may be the solution to pursuing your educational dreams.
