RVC Breaks Ground on New Campus

Rock Valley College (RVC) officially broke ground on its new Downtown West Campus on Thursday, March 27, celebrating with nearly 100 employees, stakeholders, and community partners in attendance. The campus, located at the intersection of Chestnut and Winnebago Streets in downtown Rockford, will house a variety of programs targeted at adult learners and is scheduled to open in August 2026.

Water Main Update February 14

The water main break on RVC’s Main Campus continues to impact the Woodward Technology Center (WTC) and the Stenstrom Student Center (SSC). Both buildings will remain closed on Friday, February 14, while crews continue to work to resolve the issue. Employees whose offices/departments are located in these buildings will move to remote work status.


WTC and SSC Closed on Feb. 13 Due to Water Main Break

A water main break on RVC Main Campus (Mulford Road) has led to the closure of Woodward Technology Center (WTC) and Stenstrom Student Center (SSC) buildings on Thursday, February 13, while crews work to fix the issue.


RVC Weather Alert and Water Main Break

Due to a water main break on the main campus and today’s winter weather advisory, the college will move to a virtual learning and remote workday for Wednesday, February 12, 2025.


Weather Alert for February 5-6

Out of an abundance of caution, all Rock Valley College locations will close at 4 p.m. today, Wednesday, February 5, due to dangerous weather conditions forecasted for our area beginning this evening.
