Rock Valley College Traffic Safety Named 2022 DDC Training Center of the Year Award Recipient.

This award is presented to organizations that have demonstrated exceptional dedication to the shared mission of eliminating preventable deaths through driver safety training. Rock Valley College Traffic Safety's commitment to this cause has not only helped save lives but has also contributed to the overall progress on the Road to Zero.

“Our class participants choose the defensive driving class as a way to remove a moving violation from their public driving record, save money on their car insurance, and become a safer driver in the process,” said Vicki Lay, RVC Traffic Safety Program Director. “This prestigious award is confirmation of the hard work and dedication of the entire Rock Valley College Traffic Safety Program team. We treat our participants with respect and dignity and they walk away from our classes with tools to make better driving decisions, which makes our roadway community a safer place for everyone.”

The Road to Zero resolution, endorsed by the NSC, Consumer Reports, Vision Zero, and Families for Safe Streets, aims to achieve zero roadway fatalities by 2050. Every trained driver plays a crucial role in advancing this ambitious goal, and Rock Valley College Traffic Safety has been instrumental in making significant strides towards it.

To honor their remarkable achievements, Rock Valley College Traffic Safety will be recognized at the upcoming DDC Awards Reception, scheduled to take place on Sunday, October 22, 2023, in New Orleans. This in-person event will provide an opportunity to celebrate the organization's dedication and success in promoting driver safety.
