Dr. Howard Spearman
Interim Coordinator of Intercultural Student Services
International Student Coordinator
As the International Student Coordinator in the Intercultural Student Services (ISS) department, I work closely with all International & undocumented students. I have gained a positive connection with these students while supporting them in their activities, needs, and various endeavors. I am also the Multicultural Club Advisor, which is an enriching experience in itself!
As the International Student Coordinator I provide guidance in adjusting to a new culture and managing the new academic environment at Rock Valley College. I also support various educational, social, and cultural programming for international students. My primary responsibility as the International Student Coordinator is to advise international and undocumented students on ways to succeed academically, socially, and culturally on campus and in the community. Also keeping students informed of all Federal Regulations pertaining to your status as non-immigrants in the United States is a big part of my job. I’m here to answer any questions you may have, listen to your concerns, and support you in finding answers/other available resources. I will help you learn to function independently and successfully at RVC and in the United States!
