RVC competes in NJCAA Division III in men's and women's basketball, women's volleyball, golf, baseball, softball, and men's and women's tennis. Not to brag, but we're pretty good at it. Our teams have won seven national championships and we have had more than 100 All-Americans.

The Estelle M. Black Library at Rock Valley College features nearly 75,000 volumes and more than 650 periodicals, and access to the interlibrary loan system. It also features spaces for individual and group study, and if you get thirsty, there's a coffee shop in the lobby!

Assessment Tools for Deciding Career/Major

FOCUS 2

FOCUS 2 is a self-paced, online career and education planning tool. It will enable you to assess your career relevant personal qualities and explore career fields and major areas of study that are most compatible with your assessment results. To create your personal account in FOCUS 2:

  • Logon to the website and enter the following Access Code:  eagle
  • Enter your personal information being sure to select a user name and password that you will remember easily. It's a good idea to write your user name and password down.
  • Complete the following SELF ASSESSMENTS once you are logged in:  Work Interest Assessment; Personality Assessment; Skills Assessment.
  • Click here to access the FOCUS 2 login page

The NEXT TIME you use FOCUS 2:
(You do not need to create another account to reuse FOCUS 2; Your original account remains active and will store all your results each time you use it.)

 

MBTI

The Myers Briggs Type Indicator is a nationally recognized personality assessment tool. The assessment results consist of a ten page career report offering information on the type of work environment, tasks, job families and specific occupations that would best suit your personality type. The report also offers suggestions targeted for the challenges your personality type might experience in pursuing career goals.

The assessment is taken over the Internet, and the results are sent to Career Services, Advising and Placement. You must make an appointment with the Career Advisor to interpret the results and receive your printed copy. To receive more information and the assessment instructions, please call (815) 921-4091.
