Volleyball: RVC’s Stewart to sign with Bethel University

Breahna StewartRock Valley College's Breahna Stewart (Boylan) will add another highlight to an already memorable school year when she signs a letter of intent to continue her education and college volleyball career at Bethel University in Tennessee.

 

Stewart will make her signing official during a brief ceremony on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. in the Physical Education Center (PEC), room 0108 (lower level) on RVC's main campus.

 


Stewart was named the NJCAA (National Junior College Athletic Association) national tournament's Most Valuable Player after leading the Golden Eagles to the third volleyball national championship in school history. She was also named first team NJCAA all-American, all-region, and first team all-conference (N4C).

 

She will leave RVC as the career leader in assists with 2,965, shattering the previous career record of 1,965 set by Kaitlin Slocum (2006 & 2007). Her 1,577 assists this season topped her own single season record of 1,388, which she set last season as a freshman. She also ranked third in the nation for NJCAA Division III with an average of 10.24 assists per set.

 

Bethel University is an NAIA university located in McKenzie, Tennessee, and plays volleyball in the TranSouth Athletic Conference.
