RVC competes in NJCAA Division III in men's and women's basketball, women's volleyball, golf, baseball, softball, and men's and women's tennis. Not to brag, but we're pretty good at it. Our teams have won seven national championships and we have had more than 100 All-Americans.

The Estelle M. Black Library at Rock Valley College features nearly 75,000 volumes and more than 650 periodicals, and access to the interlibrary loan system. It also features spaces for individual and group study, and if you get thirsty, there's a coffee shop in the lobby!

Adult Literacy Program

The Adult Education Center offers instruction in English as a Second Language, Citizenship, GED, and Beginning Reading, Writing and Math -- all at no charge to students. Participants must:

  • Be 17 or older
  • Not be enrolled or required by state law to be enrolled in secondary school
  • Reside in the Rock Valley College District.

Rock Valley College provides, on a flexible and individualized basis, reasonable accommodations to students who have documented disabilities that may affect their ability to participate in class activities or meet class requirements.  Students with disabilities are encouraged to contact the Adult Education office, 815-921-2000, to discuss their needs for accommodations.  Approximately 31.5% ($369,522) of total grant dollars to the Adult Education Program are provided through Federal funding.
