Always wanted to see your work in print?  Join us as we whip up a winning recipe for this wildly popular series! You will leave class with an edited story ready for submission as we go from a blank page to a finished product in a fun, practical, and engaging fashion. Materials Needed: Notebook, pen, and one volume of a Chicken Soup for the Soul book - any topic.

Writing the Middle Grade and Young Adult Novel
(HS–Adult) Writing the Middle Grade (MG) andYoungAdult (YA) Novel will  introduce you to the techniques of writing for this audience. The course will examine the underlying structure of a novel, specific writing techniques such as dialog, characterization, pacing, and plots. Provides a hands on process that will assist an unpublished writer to complete a MG or YA novel. The end of the course will include the process of querying an agent or publisher and selling a novel. Purchase textbook at RVC bookstore prior to class.
